Your First Visit

It is never easy to visit a new church for the first time so we want to be as helpful as we can to make your experience a good one. Here are the answers to a few common questions. Please contact us if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable.

When are your services?

West Campus, 14440 W. Indian School Rd., Goodyear :

  • Worship Services at 9:30am and 11:00am

East Campus, 447 S. Old Litchfield Rd, Litchfield Park

How should I dress?

We have a friendly and casual atmosphere. Dress the way you feel most comfortable – from jeans to business casual – but don’t worry about what you are wearing.  We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear.

Do I need to bring anything?

No, but feel free to bring a Bible and a pen to take notes.

What is the service like?

Our services include times of prayer, corporate worship, and a message. Many services also include special music and our church choir. Occasionally we use drama, video and other elements in our services. The entire service usually lasts about 75 minutes.

What is the music like?

Our corporate worship times are led by our praise team and accompanied by a live praise band. Many of our services feature special music as well as our choir. The music spans a range of styles from joyful celebration to intimate communion with God. Everyone worships in their own unique way – for many, that means singing & clapping, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. You’re welcome to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

What is the message (sermon) like?

Every Sunday, one of our pastors teaches from God’s Word in a way that is designed to be relevant and straightforward. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.

Is there an offering?

Each week there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attenders, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work He is doing in their lives. It also supports the ministry of Desert Springs Community Church and allows us to reach more people for Christ in the future.

As a guest, you’ll be asked to fill out a Community Card during the service. Everyone fills out a card and drops it in the offering plate.

Do you take Communion?

Once a month, we celebrate Communion together. Anyone can participate in this time of reflection and prayer – as long they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. The bread and juice we share are symbols representing the body and blood of Christ that were given on our behalf so that our sins could be forgiven.

Where do the kids go?

We have a wonderful ministry for children of all ages that is available during all three Sunday services. Please stop by the information booth in the lobby for information about where your children’s classes will be. We will be happy to direct you to the right classrooms and help you get your children registered.

Please visit our Children’s, Club 56, and Youth pages to learn more about specific ministries for each of your children.

Is there a class I can take to learn more about the church?

Yes.  Several times a year we offer a class called “Exploring Membership” for those interested in learning more about Desert Springs and how you can partner with us.  Please contact the church office to find out when the next class is scheduled.
