Adult Bible Studies

FaithLife

FaithLife is a relaxed and welcoming new fellowship of married and single middle-aged adults.  Join us as we discuss, explore the scriptures together and enjoy fellowship at fun events held throughout the year.  The atmosphere is friendly and discussion-oriented. This class is a great place to grow spiritually and make new friends!  This class meets at 9:30 AM in the Cafeteria and is taught by Dr. Perry Baker.

Under Construction

Under Construction is a study group for adults of all ages taught by Howard Rogers.  Using a teacher-led format that invites class interaction and comment, our purpose is to identify and apply Biblical principles to our daily life.  Handouts each week focus our thoughts on the study and direct attention to the key issues.  There is a prayer time each week and prayer requests are emailed to class members. Currently our studies are directed toward understanding what God desires of us.  Is our life measuring up to His standard?  How can we tell?   Join us each week in Room 106 at 9:30 a.m. as we work together to learn about and guide our lives by God's Word.

Living Branches

Living Branches is a class for young singles and married couples that meets each week Room 106  at 8:00AM, and is facilitated by Jim Kelly. Our class verse is John 15:5, and our purpose is to build authentic relationships through group discussions centered around God’s Word. We are currently going through the book of Acts, and we would love to have you come and be part of our class.

Maranatha

The Maranatha class is an in-depth adult Bible study taught by Steve Sonmor in room 107 at 9:30 AM. We normally study a book of the bible, and in this class we seek to explore the Scriptures much like a Bible College class, digging into even the difficult passages. However, we are always mindful of the need to find application of what we are discovering to give fulfillment and purpose to our daily lives. For those who want a deep study with personal application, join us at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings.

Truth & Grace

Truth and Grace is that wonderful fellowship and study for all those who are “young at heart”. The class meets at 8:00AM and 11:00AM in Room 107. Dr. Paul Benware leads the class in both topical and expository studies from God’s Word, with plenty of participation encouraged from the class members. If you want to be in on an exciting study of God’s Word, this class is for you!

God's Gals

God's Gals Sunday School class is for single, divorced, widowed, or ladies just attending DSCC alone who need a place to feel welcomed and accepted “right where you are in life”.  We currently meet at 11:00AM in room 106.   Along with our Sunday School class, we have social events, and a community ministry we enjoy doing together.

Basic Foundations

Basic Foundations is a 13-week revolving study designed to teach basic biblical foundations for spiritual growth, whether you are a new believer or have been saved a long time, whether you have lots of questions or simply would like to review the basics.  Some of the topics that are covered are Assurance of Salvation, How to Study the Bible, Serving in a local church, Biblical Communication, Prayer and Fellowship.  The format is a combination of direct teaching, discussion and practical application and is taught by Claude Ah Sing and Brian Potter in the cafeteria at 11:00 AM.

Homebuilders

If you are a thirty or forty-something who is looking for a place to learn, to grow and to connect, then the Homebuilders Class is for you. We study everything from books of the Bible to family struggles to current issues, always focusing on what God’s Word has to teach us about unwavering truth in the midst of our life changes. We meet during the 9:30AM hour in room 206, and the class is taught by Ric Engram. There’s lots of discussion and solid biblical teaching, all in an atmosphere of love and grace.  Join us this week for a great time of study and fellowship!
