ChildrenOur Children's Ministries are led by Shelly Albright. Our Children's Ministry mission statement is "Connecting Ordinary Families with an Extraordinary God." We have a passion for reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a team of teachers who are committed to the Word of God and to serving Christ and who truly love children. In addition to these ministries, Shelly has put together a very special ministry to children and families with special needs. This ministry has a ratio of one "Special Needs Buddy" for every special needs child. This ministry gives Desert Springs the unique opportunity to come alongside parents of special needs children and try to minister to their specific needs. Because each situation is so different, please call Shelly directly at (623) 435-2105. All of our children's ministry workers have been screened through a national background check AWANA
If you're looking for the premier program to change kids' lives, you've come to the right place! Awana is the leading ministry to help local churches reach children and youth for Christ. Awana blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun. Awana is a club ministry for children age 3 through 6th grade. It meets Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 from August through May. Little Sprouts
We call our preschoolers (ages two through Pre-Kindergarten) "Little Sprouts." Our purpose is to influence your child's heart to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not "Babysitters," we are Teachers, Helpers, and Caregivers. All of our volunteers serving in this ministry are serving the Lord by helping to express the Love of Christ to your child and family. While in this ministry, your child will be exposed to Bible learning and loving others in the body of Christ. We utilize the Learning Center approach to reach all styles of learners while communicating the Bible Point of the Day. We want to assure you that we do everything possible to ensure your child will be in a safe and caring atmosphere. 9:00am and 10:30am Services - During our two services, the children are in age appropriate classes where they are taught by loving, carefully screened teachers. The teachers tell them Bible stories, put on puppet shows, help them work on crafts, play lesson-oriented games, and sing children's worship songs. Our goal is that each child leaves feeling loved and cared for and they start to understand that Jesus loves them. Each class focuses on a Bible Point or Story. Circle of Friends
We call our elementary age Sunday Morning Program, Circle of Friends. Every time your child attends a Sunday morning program, your child will hear God's Word. He/She might also participate in crafts, games, or activities that help to reinforce the lesson. They will learn to use a Bible to look up verses, encounter exciting object lessons or experiments, they might see puppet skits, and even participate in an active worship time. All of our volunteers serving in this ministry are serving the Lord by helping to express the Love of Christ to your child and family. We strive to assist you in teaching your children about Christ's love and the ultimate sacrifice he made for us. 9:00am and 10:30am Services - During our two services, children are taught in age appropriate classes where they have loving teachers who show children how to open the Bible and find out what God's word can teach us about our daily lives. We teach kids to go deep into the Bible to seek out God's truth. We strive to make the Word of God something that all children can understand and begin to live out. Vacation Bible School
We long to teach the Word of God and introduce Christ's love into the lives of all children and their families. Our themed, free Vacation Bible School does just that by utilizing an active group worship time, a different bible story and life challenge each day, fun games, theme oriented take-home crafts, and a week-long mission project. This is always a week full of smiles, enjoyable learning, new friends, and lots of excitement. We usually round out the week with a closing program where all parents are encouraged to attend.
