  • Your Oikos is your extended household
  • On average everyone has a group of 8-15 people with whom you share your life – you have Influence
  • You are the most ideal instrument that God has to reach those 8-15 people

• Identifying Your Oikos
  • In your Oikos you will probably have 3 types of people

• Growing believers
• Immature believers
• Non-believers

• Be intentional in knowing your Oikos – Disciple Making

• Reaching Your Oikos
  • Pray for your entire list by name everyday
  • Regularly invite them to church with you
  • Look for ways to minister to them
  • Be yourself
  • Be consistent
  • Be persistent
  • Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading
  • Prepare yourself with the gospel
  • Be accountable with other believers for your Oikos
  • Keep your list current

• Caring for People
  • Jesus cared for all types of people
  • Jesus always had time for people
  • If we are to live like Jesus, we must care for people

• Sharing Your Story
  • Jesus’ story is the BIG story
  • One of the best ways to share Jesus with people is to share your story of Him in your life

• Living On Mission

• Worship and Freedom
  • Understanding the historical backdrop
  • Jesus was bringing in a new age of worship
  • Jesus was going to do this by fulfilling the law and instituting a new covenant (Jeremiah 31:33)

• Worship and Grace
  • Worship: it means to “bow down before” or “kiss toward”
  • Grace in worship is an amazing thing
  • We must worship from our innermost being
  • We must worship according to His revelation

• Worship with Freedom and Grace
  • Worship starts with knowing Jesus personally through salvation
  • Worship must spring from our heart – the overflow of God’s work in our life
  • There is a lot of freedom in both corporate and personal worship
  • If we drink deep of Jesus, it will allow us to worship daily with grace and freedom

• Everyone Is Thirsty

• God made us to be complete – in relationship with Him
• Without God in our life, there is a thirst that cannot be satisfied
• Life then becomes a quest to find something to quench the thirst within

• Our Thirst is Spiritual, Not Physical

• By default, we relate everything to the physical side of our life
• The spiritual side of our life is the most important (Proverbs 4:23)
• Most people have no idea of the need of their spirit
• Jesus alone can quench the thirst of your soul
• He gives living water as a free gift

• Looking for Water in the Middle of a Fountain

• We focus on the physical side of life, not the spiritual side
• We don’t daily drink deep of the water of life (Psalm 34:8; Proverbs 3:5-6)
• Because we fail to drink deeply of the life that has been given us our identity is not rooted in Jesus
• Drink deep of the water of life within you! (Revelation 22:17)

• One of the greatest privileges and responsibilities we have is to serve the Lord Jesus
• Our service is to be focused on making disciples (Matthew 28:19-20)

• People will cause you problems in ministry
• Ministry models have seasons
• The scope of any ministry is in God’s hand (1 Corinthians 4:5)

• Love for Jesus must be our #1 motivation
• If our love for Jesus is our #1 motive, no task will ever be too big or too small
• If love of Jesus is our #1 motive, we won’t get bitter
• If love for Jesus is our #1 motive, we will never quit!
• It’s always, totally and completely about Jesus

• Spiritual Hypoxia
  • Being oblivious to your need
  • Being confused as to truth
  • Being happy, even while quickly dying

• Spiritual Oxygen
  • Jesus is Life and Truth
  • Jesus seeks to wake them up from their disoriented state (Malachi 3:1-3)
  • Jesus offers the greatest proof possible – resurrection (Matthew 12:39-40)

• Spiritual Life
  • True spiritual life is found only in Jesus
  • Spiritual life comes through trusting in Jesus alone to save you
  • Spiritual life changes everything
  • Jesus wants to give you life today
