European MissionsDesert Springs Community Church supports the following missionaries in Europe:

Eric & Beth Yodis – World Venture – Ukraine

Primary ministry focus for the Yodis’ is facilitating church planting with the Ukrainian Mission Society "Spiritual Renewal of Donbass."  They work with young to middle-aged men with leadership ability and their families; those who have a passion to minister, but many are unable to leave work to attend Bible college or seminary.  Major challenges include diversity of the ministry demands extreme multi-tasking ability. Resources are often in short supply. Teaching and pastoring pastors requires a high degree of Russian language competence.  Their prayer is that the vision for church planting will be grasped by believers throughout the region so that the church-planting ministry would become a church-planting movement.

John & Marie Skiotis – Operation Mobilization – London Muslims

Turning Point has a history of nearly 30 years in training and evangelism among the peoples of the Middle East, Near East and Asian Sub-Continent.  All methods are intended to lead to friendly evangelism, which is a significant discussion in a relatively short period of time, with the goal of a further follow up visit. To an Eastern or Middle Eastern person friendship means going the second mile and then the third, fourth and fifth. To a Westerner, hospitality is not as lavish, not as frequent, and not a cultural necessity. The people groups that OM Turning Point works with would put a stranger up for three nights before asking any questions about it. They would fully expect their friends to leave whatever they are doing if asked for help, because they would drop everything if a friend called them.

Jonathan & Elena Banegas – Young Life - Spain

Their personal and general goal is to help establish Young Life ministry in their area and develop and multiply it to the whole Spain. Their main goals are to recruit, disciple, train and develop leaders in order to be effective tools to reproduce this model and impact the adolescents around them.  To work closely in partnership and be involved with Local Churches, youth groups and other Christian Youth organizations in reaching non-church adolescents and youth.  To explore the possibility and develop a strategy to own the first Young Life Camp in Spain.  To implement the vision of getting fully involved in the community by serving, offering and developing activities and programs that will help us share the Gospel with teens.  To develop a relational strategy of how to reach the post-modern adolescents in each community where we are going to be involved.  To consolidate the 5 "C" of Young Life: Contact work, Club, Camps, Campaigners and Committee.
